THE MYSTRY OF THE SOIL As one studies the Scripture we see man was created from dirt, that’s the reason we are able to grow, if we have the right climate. The women was created from the rib of man, giving man the desire to protect and care for her, giving her security and acceptance. Dirt also has different colors, types which is seen by the different skin type of men and women. Having farmed in the Yakima Valley I can understand the importance of the different types of soil. It takes instrumentation in the hands of a chemist, to determine all the chemicals within soils and you have to know soil types, to know what type of crop you’re able to plant. Soil is scarce and God is not making any more, the first job on planet earth was farming, for Adam cared for the garden. It was a job and we see he didn’t take the time to understand his wife and neglected to communicate maybe as he should of. Eve spend time with Satan, for he was very good at communication and convinced her to be like God. Isn’t that what we all want, the ability to do our thing, don’t tell me what to do! Who do you think you are? Today with all that is happening in the Churches it is important we keep our eyes upon the Lord and not rely on people. People make mistakes, but God never does. Only trust Him! Only trust Him is a song we used to sing, for He alone is able to save you. Notice Adam was working and Eve playing around with the enemy, producing weeds. Adam did not ask any questions about what he was eating. Like, where did this come from? He just appears to eat what Eve gave to Adam, then they both realized they did something wrong and hid. We see, desire, take and give, if it is wrong we always hide, or want to cover it up some how. It is interesting to know that God planted all the vegetation in the garden including the tree of good and evil. So we see the earth is able to produce both good and evil, but when God cursed men, women and Satan, he cursed also the soil and it was going to bear weeds. So now this dirt that is capable of producing well, becomes bad, full of weeds and the farmer spends thousands of dollars to eliminate weeds. Weeds are truly a curse to the soil, just as humans have many weeds that are growing in their lives. Look at the thousands of dollars men and women spend to get rid of the curse of the addictions of sin, or to have the weeds removed. God is the only one that removes the weeds from our lives as the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and we cry out for Help! When we admit we have made a mistake and we say, “Lord, forgive me” and He lifts me up out of the miry clay and that is the mystery man can’t begin to understand. But it sure makes one know he is accepted by God. The first step in any type of treatment plan is Admit you need help! It is not a mystery to know that dirt is very common and we have to spend money on soap and other supplies, to keep it out of our houses and off our bodies. Soap when used properly, gets rid of the dirt on the body, but if it is not used, dirt accumulates. Could we not say that sin is like dirt?It has to be removed by the blood of the Lamb, or we rob ourselves of cleanliness.
It has to be removed by the blood of the Lamb, or we rob ourselves of cleanliness. John chapter fifteen, tells us of how God is the Gentleman farmer, He is the one that cultivates, waters and prepares us for growth, as we submit by abiding in Jesus. Notice God does not need any help in restoring us; He is the only one who can sanctify us as we ask Him to forgive us, giving us a new clean heart. We hear the word disciple often and the Lord had disciples He chose, He could not get Judas to follow Him. What a mystery we need to understand. That does not mean we are not suppose to train others and teach the things of the Lord, but people have to realize the power of faith to grow, is given by God. Judas did not have faith in God, he had faith in himself and money. When he got paid, he could not find satisfaction, he wanted to take it back, but, it was not accepted. He fell into depression and went out and hung himself. His ground was pretty hard and rocky, he needed to take more time with the Lord. How much time do we take with the Lord? The Hebrew word for ground is adamah, similar to the word Adam, which means earthly, or like reddish earth, referring to arable soil, that which has the capacity to bring forth and support life. Science says that all the elements within our body amounts to $4.50, that ought to keep us humble. The word humble comes from the Latin word humus the same word for ground. The ground, humus is again arable, giving it the capacity to grow things. The word homo derived from humus to designate man, now labeled us Homo Sapiens. Sapiens is a Latin term for knowledge, or wisdom. That is the reason for man being the only creation that has the capacity to choose what we do and say. Everything else he created goes by instinct, geese fly south in the winter and north in the summer. Birds of a feather flock together. Trees stay trees and animal stay animals and it’s the survival of the fittest. Yes, it seems like in the human race its becoming the survival of the fittest, but that is not what the Lord planed for mankind. This reveals some of the mystery of the ground, it allows us to grow in the knowledge and understanding of the Lord, that we might be blessed as we abide in the Vine. If we do not, we suffer the consequences of our choices. Another mystery is the earth has the spirit of growth; it is as flesh to our body, soul and spirits. Every time I read the Bible which is the way, the truth and the life, I grow into that person the Lord wants me to be, as I obey Him. God has given us all the air, water, blood, fertilizers, or chemicals, to sustain us from dying. Death is in His hands and death is no respecter of person. But thank the Lord for life we have, as we abide in Him, we will never die, but live for ever and ever with Him. But those who are not abiding in the Lord will suffer for ever with the enemy of there souls Satan in hell. We are living in a scientific age that has the ability to determine life within the dirt. One earth worm can move up to 100 tons of soil per acre per year, according to Canada’s Agriculture, Food and Rural Development agency. It is good that we can’t see all that is under our feet, for there are 1,000 of microscopic forms of life that help to sustain us and the animal world. Thank you Lord that we can’t see everything around us, please keep it a mystery. To be continued |
