Acts 3
Acts 3 is going to show us the miracle of sermons to confirm the doctrine of healing that needs to be preached. We are going to see how the ground is broken up to where miracles are possible. A man born lame at birth and the impression it made upon in people-The scope of the sermon to bring people to the Lord by repenting of sins as they believed in the Lord.
Acts 3 King James Version (KJV)
Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. Peter and John were not fresh from receiving a special blessing as they have been filled with the Holy Spirit and able to see many signs and wonders done by Jesus and now the Apostles as the Spirit gave them direction. Peter seem to be the speaker many times and got himself into trouble and here he is with John who seemed to have loved the Lord the most as he rested his head on Jesus Shoulder. So Luke the Author here is describing what he saw from these brother in the Kingdom of God. I remember when we used to use the phrase Brothers and Sisters when we gathered at the Church or saw another Christian in town. Brother how are you a real kingship. A term used to denote a true friendship. Now remember it was Peter who denied the Lord and here John who loved the Lord the most is joining up with his friend Peter for ministry. Lord help us. To work together regardless of who we are, for we need to be joined together with Christ. For they have been to the temple worshiping and praising the Lord and where filled with reverence, worship building up their faith and hope in praying to God to obey His will. We need to catch the importance of spending time with God in prayer for His will. Do we have time to pray and worship together as a Church?
Today we need people that are interested in serving the Lord by drawing closer to the Lord as a group of believers so they can be endued with power from on High. We all have time and God gave us the Church to become a part of, so we can draw closer as a body to Him and one another to make a difference in our world.
And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Here we see this lame man who was born without the ability to walk a cripple not by accident, but by birth. Here he is at this beautiful gate begging from all passing by for could work at making a living. So someone laid him by this gate where people came into and out of the Temple. It must have been a busy place for the Temple was very popular where devout good people came to worship the Lord. He knew our alms and Charity needed to go together. He no doubt knew who Peter and John where.
Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. Now remember they where just filled with the Holy Spirit so where ready to minister to whosoever wanted life abundantly.
And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. Here both Peter and John stop to minister to this beggar by looking and asking in return you look on us. Should our eyes be upon the Lord so we can receive His compassion to care for ones needs.
And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. When we pay attention to the needs of people, we can begin to give what God has given us, when we are all prayed up we are ready for sharing our hope. We are living in a area of fear, doubt and distrust and need to listen to what is going on so we can give hope in a hopeless situation.

22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know— 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you [f]have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having [g]loosed the [h]pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. It is a miracle and Peter wanted Israel to hear these words. He details the history of the life of Christ, who was approved by God and wants them to hear him. He became famous by miracles and wonders and signs of nature He was able to control. Stopping the wind, walking on water, raising from the dead those who died, giving hope to the helpless and much more works for God was with Him. It was you and your lawless hands, that crucified the Lord. Yet it was God that raised Him up out of the grave after being there for three days. This was finished He paid the price for all the sins of the world when people cry out to Him for forgiveness.
Note Psalms 16:8-11 It was not David who was a saint it was God Himself but David is here a type of Christ.
25 For David says concerning Him: It was all fulfilled in God
‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face,
For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken. He saw his suffering would rebound abundantly to the honor of God. He is at my right hand, the hand must powerful that upholds and empowers so we are not removed by our lack of trusting the Lord.
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad;
Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.

Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.Thank the Lord everything He did was with joy. Even when He was going through great sorrow at the cross. He knows the good that was going to be received by all who believe, and who spoke the truth in love. Is not our tongue our glory or our loss when we do not accept the way, truth and life that is found in trusting and obeying the Lord. To be able to rest in the vine allows us to automatically produce good will and peace to all! We should never feel separated from the body of Christ, but cling to Him. We need to make sure it is the Spirit, soul and body that is understood for the Spirit should be the guiding point or focus, of our lives,

The Crowd’s Response
And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.Notice there where a lot of people gathered who were Old Testament believers from all parts of the known world. Some from eastern countries; Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and dwellers of Mesopotamia. Then the inhabitants of Cappadocia, Pontus from AsiaThe next came Phrygia, and Pamphylia. And Strangers of Rome, Egypt and parts of Libya around Cyrene and island of Crete and from the deserts of Arabia all Jews or proselytes to the Jews Religion. What a crowd gather to see the appearing of the Messiah according to Daniels weeks; Like 19:11 So they were zealous and devoted to Jerusalem in order to have an early share in the Kingdom of the Messiah. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. What a amazement to hear them speak in their language and not having learn there language. Talk about a wonderful miracle God gave to man as a witness to the tongues ability to be controlled by God. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own [c]language in which we were born? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and [d]Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” 12
So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?” God has a way of assuring His people they are special and the tongue was for a sign to those that do not believe. This wall of resistance was broken down by the tongue given over to the mind of the Lord Himself. It is amazing how every nation has people ion it that are Christians that are full of the Holy Spirit of God. People are in ecstasy, spell bound.
13 Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”New wine causing them to be drunk, because of celebrating the new Kings arrival. They are seen by some as fools in Israel that is out of control drunk with stupidity.
Peter’s Sermon shows the first fruits of the Spirit of God. For he has been forgiven of his denying ever knowing the Lord so God is showing him to be restored to diviner favor.
14 But Peter, standing up with the elevenShowing he was not drunk but forgiven, he raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. Peter was being his own self and took the authority to address the masses. It was the Jews he was addressing for they were the ones who killed the Lord. His master was gone and he needed to bring people back to reality for they were imagining the craziest things that needed to be seen as truth. 1For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only [e]the third hour of the day. What a shock to hear these men are not drunk for it is only 9 o clock in the morning and the Jews did not eat nor drink. Christian scholars never learn above the Bible; and the Spirit is given not to supersede the scriptures, but to enable us to understand and improve the Scriptures. Hal Linsey and other prophets do not add to the Bible they reveal what the Bible is suggesting so we see the imagination of the truth vividly as reality. Not then questing what God is doing around the world.
