Achieving Your Potential

Part 2

I'm sorry, I have not been able to get on line, but it is now fixed and I'm back so would like to continue the study of Achieving Your Potential.

We are living in a society that embraces humanism, which says, the subconscious doesn’t know the difference between actual experiences and one vividly imagined. This causes us to not really understand the truth but believe a lie. Such as drinking is ok just do it moderately, just do not bother me and I will not bother you. Same with taking drugs it allows me to get closer to God, what a lie.

As Christians we are living in this world, but not embracing the things the world embraces. As you look at my notes to study on your own you can know what you believe. It’s not good enough to put your confidence in mans ability, we need to put our trust in Gods hands and let Him mold us into His image.

We do this as we look at the society we are living in and learn from our experiences. To experience doing things right is far more rewarding then doing them wrong.

A.      Notice worldly, carnal people’s custom and sinful ways.

Here it is the first day of  2006 we never know what we are going to be faced with, but we can be assured God has a plan. As we look to the future may it be with hope wanting to become a better person, affecting everyone we are around with the love of the Lord. In order to begin to achieve ones potential we need to understand our Comfort Zone- That area which corresponds with your current self-image in any area of your life. Can we see the greater our self-esteem the broader our comfort zone becomes? This many times cause undue grief to all around us. Move out of your comfort zone and we experience tension, anxiety, breathing becomes difficult, muscles in our neck tighten, we secrete extra digestive juices causing ulcers. The result is decreased effectiveness and poor performance.

How are we going to keep within a positive comfort zone were we are proud of who we are? Look at how you’re talking to yourself to build good, positive self-esteem. Self talk is given to us by God for we are all created to communicate and make choices and the choices keep us in a good positive comfort zone. Romans 12:1-2  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Merry Christmas

Happy New Year

We just came from a Christmas Eve Service’s at our Church and had our oldest son, his wife and family here for supper. With potato pancakes, apple sauce, sausage and bacon which has become tradition.

Christmas has always been a special time for both Ginny’s and my lives. My mother would have all the Uncles and Aunties from both sides of our family. It was a time of laughter, eating, playing games and exchanging of gifts, Ginny’s family did the same.

The older we get the more we appreciate family, for as they get older the greater the blessings. We now have 10 grandkids, being taught the biblical pattern of living and to see their dedication to the Lord is the thrill of our lives.
