And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sinai an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. Here Stephen is still talking about Moses who had survived the 40 years after seeing the fire of the Holy Spirit lead them through the wilderness just before He saw the burning bush
When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,
Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold. What a startling experience for Moses to behold and really see the reason for it not burning up. This world we are living in is burning up with lust of the flesh and one of these day God is going to intervene and call the Church home. May we behold what the Lord is doing in our world today to get our attention of His return. May the voice of the Lord come to you so you can see the wonder of the grace of the Lord to forgive you of sin. Abraham is dead, but God is alive; thank the Lord He is never dead but always alive to touch our eyes so we can see the wonder of    what all is going on in the spiritual world of reality.
Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground. Moses your feet are standing on Holy Ground so take off your shoes. Thank the Lord God is not confine in places but He is in you and wants to minister to you regardless of the circumstances your in. He wants to appear as a flame of fire to burn out anything that might destroy our relationship to God. Notice Israel is not consumed by its neighbors even through it is in a flame of affliction all around them.
I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt. God Always sees what is going on and hears the groans of those in pain and of persecution. I have seen and I have heard and I am coming down to deliver you. It is God who sent His Son to come down from Heaven to save our world addicted by selfish pursuits just as He came to deliver the Promised children for Egypt’s bondage by Moses.
This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush. God puts honor on Moses whom they refused by saying who made you a judge? God made Moses a ruler and a judge while he was yet in the bulrushes. Here it is Moses who made Pharaoh let the people go after many woes; water turn to blood; Frogs, Lice, Flies, livestock diseased, Boils, Hail, Locusts, Darkness and finally Death of first born
He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years. What a testimony of God leading and guiding Moses for 40 years through a land he did not know having to depend upon the cloud by day and the fire by night hovering over them.

This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear. Here Stephen is hoping that these leaders are seeing how the Lord used Moses to bring hope and faith to the children of Israel as a prophet used of the Lord. I think Stephen was doing his best to get his accusers here to see he too was a prophet proclaiming Jesus as our deliver. Can you hear the Lord saying come unto me? It is imperative we come to the Lord for salvation from sins shame and disgust.
This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: Here Stephen was show Moses as a type of Christ that is far greater, than I am as Stephen. The Lord was guiding the Church in the wilderness, just like He is guiding the Church today as a sacred society, incorporated by a divine charter under a divine government and blessed with divine revelation. The Church in the wilderness was not perfectly formed as it was soon to be in Canaan, for everyone did what was right in their own eyes Deut. 12: 8-9.  Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.
For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord your God giveth you.
Moses interceded for the Church forty years, but Christ is the guide of a more excellent and glories church than Moses lead in the wilderness. Moses had to be in conversation with God and the angels that spoke with him. May we hear the spirit of God speaking to us as members of the body of Christ Church, that we can have the impact the Lord wants us to have as Ambassadors for the Kingdom of God. These words of God are oracles; certain and infallible and of unquestionable authority and obligation; they are to be consulted as oracles and by them all controversies must be determined. They are lively oracles coming from a living God, not of dumb idols and dead idols of the heathens. God speaks by His spirit of life and not that the law of Moses could give life, but showed the way to life. As we abide in the vine Jesus, so we can produce goodwill and peace to all! This living oracle which he received from God he faithfully gave to the people to be observed and preserved. This became the principle privilege of the Jews that to them were committed the oracles of God by the hand of Moses. Now we have the bread of life the Lord gave to us to proclaim. God is communicating to us daily as we read His word and pray for His will to be done.  Now we then can relax in who God is and not who we are not?
To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. It seemed like man has not changed for it is so easy to mummer and complain when the leader is gone. Lord help us to have that personal relationship to You all the time.  Help us not to forget who we are abiding in and who is giving us the oracles of understanding the knowledge to have the wisdom to relax in your love mercy and grace, so we do not want to do our will but your will be done. Yes, man is going to get what he wants and the ask the second in command Aron to build a golden calf.
And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. They did want they wanted to and made a calf like what they escaped from and went right back into bondage to selfishness.
Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness? God gives us what we ask for, we all have a choice and they choose a calf to worship. We are seeing the same thing happen around the world today as people have been given over to a reprobate mind and doing whatever they want and we are seeing Women being abused and families broken apart as addictions are wanted more that Gods love mercy and grace. Can it get any worse you watch wait and you're going to see Satan worship more all the time. To be continued
