Acts 1 New King James Version (NKJV)
Prologue Here we are going from the Old to the New Testament with now no longer the law but Grace as the main emphasis to show us what just happen during the time of Jesus birth to living for His Fathers will to be done  going to the Cross as His assignment to complete what He cried out Oh Lord let this cup pass from me. That was the sins of the past present and future where laid on His shoulder so we might have a new life as it is seen in the way he appeared for 40days to all.
The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which [a]He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many [b]infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. Notice he calls Theophilus by name a man that the Disciples knew and Luke honored by calling Him out. Lord help me to remember people names for it shows a personal awareness of who we are addressing. I admire people that know my name and I try to call people by name but it is so hard for me. Lord help us to be personal with people for everyone was created by God. Luke is telling in his way what he saw the Lord do and say. Yes, he was shocked like all the disciples but yet assured He was Lord and reign supreme. Now as Disciples they were going to see how God was still going to be present as He promised them to go on into perfection. Let’s not forget the past victories and defeats, but look at what is going to happen now to encourage them to start to speak again as they after His death went into hiding not seeing the light, but in darkness of the death of the King of Kings. Yet Jesus appears to them what a surprise for He was going to do something that would give everyone the opportunity to come alive by being born again and they were learning this the hard way. Everything that Jesus told them while He was with them now made them realize afresh He is surly the Son of God allowing us to go on into perfection. Now they are going to see a guide that is a sure foundation to build upon, they will not forget the Old Testament law, but become alive to the New Covenant that is being prepared for them as they waited upon God. Notice Jesus did and taught and confirmed what He said with many infallible miraculous works. He left us a example that proved He was a follower of Gods will by His works he taught and did. Now He is getting ready to empower the Church to do and work out their own salvation to prove they are abiding in the vine; Jesus. Jesus Christ began and the Church is going to complete what He started. We are going to see the beginning of a new Doctrine and the beginning of miracles. Jesus appears in body form, yet as a Spirit for he talked and ate with them and is soon going to leave them in the clouds. Remember it was the clouds by day that hovered over the Children of Israel in the wilderness. Now He is getting ready to do another work at the right hand of God, interceding for us His children. God is getting ready to condescend upon His chosen, showing His compassion as a High Priest that is touched with the feeling of our infirmities. He told them what was to be expected of them as chosen by Him through the Holy Spirit, which He was the Mediator that breathed upon them. The comforter was going to become the commander of the commission He gave to all present, then, now and forever. We are seeing a new Kingdom of Grace unfurl, as He tells them in secret as they are gathered what is to be expected. Notice He is in person and yet a Spirit that is going to breath upon anyone that wants to be full of His Spirit. He did not talk politics, or the kingdom of men, or philosophy, or the kingdom of nature but pure divinity and the Kingdom of Grace.

The Holy Spirit Promised
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; Being assembled with them in a mountain area in Galilee where they did not stay, but went to the upper room to wait. Jesus wanted them to concentrate on God for what He promised and that was mercies to come, faith to come, hope to come as they worshiped and reverenced His name in prayer, expecting. Christ was ready to show Himself upon the Holy Hill of Zion; so, the word would go forth from Jerusalem. The place where Jesus was put to shame, yet where He forgave His enemies. Here they are exposing themselves to danger, yet trusting God for their safety as they are involved with His duty of waiting.  This was the greatest place to shine the Light in of Jesus presence, so people could begin to see the light of His glory and grace. He tells the story of how the Holy Spirit was promised to them Luke 1:72 to perform the mercy promised to our fathers, for eternal life is about to happen now. Jerusalem was the fittest candlestick for those light to be set in. The Holy Spirit is going to be plentiful than ever. Or they had been breath upon by the Holy Spirit to give new life now we are going to see the reason this gift is given to comfort and empower us. The Priest were cleansed and purified by the Holy Spirit when they were consecrated to the sacred function as Priest. Israel was baptized unto Moses in the Cloud the Lord provided. And in the sea they walked on dry ground safe and secure. The Spirit is given by promise. Eternal life is our when we accept abiding in the vine. Temporal good things are given by promise. The Spirit of God is not given as the spirit of a men is given us, and formed within us, by a course of nature but by the word of God. Animals and nature don’t have a choice. That is the reason the Lord is valuable to mankind we need God daily.  We are going to see the need for grace we need by faith. We are being adopted into the family of Gods and as a Father God is merciful. For He said the comforter is going to come.  for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”We are seeing Matthew 3 referred to I indeed baptized you with water, but He that comes after me shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Now here it is at hand when something greater that Baptism in water is ready to show Gods love for us all. God teaches us by His spirit, and His spirit is making intercession in us, which means more than any preacher preaching to us. Thank the Lord it is the Holy Spirit that draws us to accept God and then empowers us to live for God.
Look at what happen right here in this Church back before 1036 when Wapato had a revival that was so powerful the Taverns had to close for many where coming to Church getting Saved. Evangelist Bannum was having revival and Pastor Water and Pastor Johnny Manchester thought it was time to start a Church in Brownstown on Barks road where David and Margret live now. The Church grew out of it building and came to Harrah in 1955 under Pastor Rentijes Thank the Lord for what I have seen growing up attending Oral Roberts Tent campaign in Yakima and see miracles after miracles and we would as teenager sit in the front row watching goiters disappear and people lame walk and throw away wheel Chairs. Lord help us to see miracle again today for we need God to intervene in so many area of our lives.
6Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” Here they are together in one body, soul and spirit waiting for God to show Himself as King for that was on their minds now more than ever. For here He has died, was buried and rose from the grave and they reason for sure to rule and reign now. They did not see it was not a Kingdom here but a Kingdom of the Spirit of God which is not earthly but Heavenly Kingdom. They were soon going to see the cross they were going to have to bear and would need help. Now they had hope God was going to take charge. We can’t form scripture by our interpretation or scheme but from the plain of Scripture. It is the Spirit that corrects and rectifies the mistakes as the Disciples where soon to learn. Lord isn’t it time we come together for Your purpose? There is no better time than now, after all that is going on. Here they wanted to set on thrones of authority.  And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. Remember earlier Jesus told Peter about John and said, what is that to you. Notice 1. Men are apt at wanting power now: 2. We want to have our will as e suck at life. 3. We are biased in favor of our wills. 4. It is easy to misunderstand Scripture. But when the Spirit is alive with in our lives He is revealing the truth so we are not deceived by the lies of Satan.  But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be [c]witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” But you shall receive Power. What a statement for that is what everybody seems to want; control but notice who is giving this power. Number 1.  His gospel to live by and to talk about. 2. It needs to be proven by our actions and behavior and attitude. 3. You will be martyrs to me or my martyr’s. 4. God work in us is going to be sufficient. 5. Prove by miracles through suffering and not giving up. You have been in hiding but you will begin in your home town of Jerusalem, then Judea, then Samaria and into the utter parts of the world. Thank the Lord He has not come yet for someone has not seen or heard about the truth, way and life found in abiding in the Lord.
