“Mothers Day”
This is a day we get to honor women that God created from the rib of a man to be joined together in a marriage designed by God as He saw man needed a friend to communicate with. Genesis 2:21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He [h]made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called [i]Woman,
Because she was taken out of [j]Man.”
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be[k] joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Now we go to the 3rdchapter of Genesis which is the saddest for up to this time everything God created was good, but now Satan is out to destroy all God created good. Paul tells us in Romans 5:12 By one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was [a]pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves [b]coverings.
And they heard the [c]sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the [d]cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”
13 And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent:
“Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go,
And you shall eat dust
All the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”
16 To the woman He said:
“I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
In pain you shall bring forth children;
Your desire shall be [e]for your husband,
And he shall rule over you.”
17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:
“Cursed is the ground for your sake;
In toil you shall eat of it
All the days of your life.
18 Both thorns and thistles it shall [f]bring forth for you,
And you shall eat the herb of the field.
19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken;
For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return.”
20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve,[g] because she was the mother of all living.
21 Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— 23 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
What a story that is still being acted out as women around the world are being instruments of a mothers love or instruments of being controlled by Satan and all his forces of evil.

Wives are to give honor to God and their husbands rather they are great or small according to Esther 1:20 Solomon said a woman shall not be lazy but look for the welfare of her family. Proverbs 31:27 And Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7:10 they are not to depart from the husband but work with. So Paul says in Ephesians 5:22 Wives (women) submit yourselves unto your husbands as unto the Lord. 1 Timothy 3:11 Even so must the wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 1 Peter 3:1 Likewise, be in subjection to your own husbands, that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives.
Mothers are partners called to be help mates, and when mothers accept the call of the Lord to marry a husband she takes on a beauty of character that knows how to love regardless of the circumstance she finds herself in. How many times has a loving wife keep her love burning bright turned her mate who was out of order back on track. Mothers have a way of forgiving and accepting that is totally amazing.
Mothers today are faced with having children and the Father has left the children to the mother. So the training and providing for the needs of the child falls on the mother to nurture and control her children and that is hard, but thank the Lord He gives the strength needed to do the job of loving our children till death do us part.
We are living in an area when dysfunctional families are rampant, but God is still using women to bless other people’s kids and we see that right here as Sue Knight has taken in other people’s kids. We see adoption agency always asking for help to take children and care for all their needs.
Thank the Lord for mothers in this Church who have had to care for their children without any help from a partner.
I am so thankful that my mothers, mother was a Christian and knew what it was like to love my Dad and my two brother Ellis and Lowell and my Sister Analee. She was a mother I never saw get angry, but knew how to make sure we were disciplined by Dad in such a way we knew we were loved. Mom was always ready for visitors as our cousins and friends where always welcomed at out home. We enjoy going on trips on a Sunday Afternoon and every time the Church doors where open we were in church. Some of the highlights were when we had Revivals that last sometimes more than a week every night out and the Holy Spirits out pouring was so real to where we would be in prayer until 1 am. We did not want to leave the Church because of the glory that was experienced. Our mother not only talked about serving the Lord she did at home and in the Church as Sunday School treasure for many years. We would come home from school and find mom in the walk-in closet praying to the Lord. Mom showed us how to study the Bible in a way that allowed us to understand the importance of reading the Bible.
So mother was a word that had a lot of meaning for Mom loved her Lord, her husband and her family and everyone she meet. Our home was full of love toward God and for one another and the community we were a part.
