Stretch self to new goals new ideas in order to grow. 3. The Clearer and vividly one imagines things in your New Life environment, with frequent repetitions and emotional impact, the stronger and more real the picture on the sub-conscious will rise. E. Want reality? You can have it. 1. Imagine the positive change. We are born again. John 3:1-21. 2. Build a positive expectation of the change. 2 Corinthians 5:17. 3. Mentally and emotionally prepare for the Change. Hebrews 1:12 Hebrews 8:10-13. Jesus is immutable; Incapable of changing or being modified, inalterable, inflexible, invariable, ironclad, rigid, unalterable, unchangeable. Hebrews 1:12, 13:8; and James 1:17. There are many things in the Bible we need to lock on to. Note the BEATITUDES Matthew 5: 3 to 7:27. 1. Blessed are the Poor in Spirit-allows one to see our conscience need of help, for our salvation is in God and rids one of pride. 2. Blessed are they that mourn-allows one to cry and have compassion asking forgiveness and rides one of boredom. 3. Blessed are the meek-it allows one to be consecrated and rids one of being angry with out sinning, or becoming violent. Meekness is not weakness but the opposite, it's growing in mercy and grace, having the ability to say, “I’m sorry”. 4. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness-We all need to become transformed in to the image of God, just as we hunger and thirst we transform or grow into wholeness. Let’s allow a cleansing to rid our-self of apathy. 5. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy- allows forgiveness showing we are still growing and rids one of Bitterness. 6. Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God-Our Hearts need to have a filter, which allows a cleansing of our minds and rids one of impurity. 7. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the Children of God-Allows restitution and rids one of guilt because we are seeing our-selves attaining perfection. 8. Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness sake; for there is the Kingdom of God-gives one the identification, he’s with God, ridding one of fear. Only A Christian can love his enemies. 9. Blessed are you when men revile you and lie about you falsely. That’s persecution at the greatest degree-allows one to be persecuted with out violence and rids one of distrust. 10. Colossians 3 and Philippians 3:4-20 need to be put into practice; stretching self to new goals, and ideas in order to grow and grow as we see change. I. What is your motivation? 1. Constructive. 2. Restrictive - destructive? Nothing magical, or mystical, about learning more potential, no great secrets; just plain hard work. The matter of Constructive Motivation is I want to, rather than I have to, which is restrictive. I trust we can see the pay value as doing everything as unto the Lord. It produces happiness and success, regardless of the circumstance. We need to move with the great desire toward the Lord and what He has in store for us as we reach out to our potential. 1. Achieving your potential constructive is understanding who you are. 1. What is motivation? Latin verb; “Movere” meaning to move. It’s an intense drive that causes action or a reason to act or behave. Need is a lack of something good and a drive is a tendency to act in order to fill that need. Romans 8:13; 6:6; 13:14. Galatians 6:16; Colossians 3:5; 1 Peter 2:11 and 1 Peter 4:2 2. Restrictive = Primarily based on: 1. Have To’s. 2. Fear, coercion and pressure make us act or perform. Do it or else. God said to man in the beginning of time. Genesis 2:17 but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat. For the day you do thou shalt die! Genesis 3:3 Don’t even touch it. RESTRICTIVE do not eat or touch or you will die. FEAR was removed, Satan had a foot hold he assured man it was OK! You will not die, you’ll be like God. You will know, good from evil. What A LIE! Man saw, desired, took and gave then after it was all done they both hide. Man feared God’s judgement 1. List five ways you act because of fear. a. b. c. d- Fear can be psychological, do it, or else you’ll be rejected, ridiculed, embarrassed, or humiliated as a person. What happen to man when he ate? He hide. God said, where art thou Adam. Adam said, I hear your voice, I’m afraid. He was caught red handed because he was naked, he did not follow the rules, he disobeyed. Restriction was gone, disobedience was in effect. Sin was reality. When we restrict or push we take personal accountability and force God behavior.
Was God pushing man not to eat of the fruit? NO! Just warning of wrong behavior. Man chooses to listen to either God or Satan. Go ahead be like God is what man wanted and still desires. Fear was replaced by confidence, assurance in wrong, because man didn’t recall or examine reality in him self. 1 Corinthians 11:28, 13:5 and Psalms 26:2. 2. Restrictive motivated people must constantly be pushed. a. Make me. Move Me. 1. They give accountability, fix blame on someone else, constantly find excuses, like drive me and push back. 2. With holding is a characteristic. a. Man, Adam blamed women. b. Women, Eve blamed the serpent. Have we changed when we do something wrong? List some of the things you get back at people who have wronged you? II. Invest in Excellence 1. Man’s basic premise: We act, work, produce and behave not in accordance with the truth, but only the TRUTH as we see it to be. 2. God’s basic premise: We act, work, produce and behave according to our acceptance of HIS TRUTH IN HIS WORD. John 15:6; Proverbs 12:19. A. Do I see the truth or do I have blind spots? 1. Perception of Truth. 2. Cognitive Dissonance-restraint and contradictory conflicting opinions and beliefs. 3. God’s Word never changes, it’s the bases of all truth. B. What is your self-image? The total you and your beliefs. 1. Who do you visualize becoming like? God or Man? 2. Habits and attitudes. 1. We all need a simulator. (Like the real thing) 2. Rationalization is it logical and justifying? a. Doctors who smoke, ministers who cheat; etc. 3. Born in sin = Change comes by being born again. John 3:5-8. 3. Comfort zones are needed by all. 1. Eliminates anxiety and stresses. a. How does it come? 1. Self Talk. Commitment to the Lord. 2. Meditating on the Word of God. 1 Timothy 4:15’ Psalms 119:97 b. How do we perform? 1. Low self esteem-man centered. 2. High Self Esteem-God centered regardless of the circumstance. b. Motivational factors. 1. Order-what is “right” not only for you but for others. Mark 12:31; Romans 13:10, 15:1-2 and Galatians 5:14 c. Energy flows inside from what we see and read, to out side. Garbage in Garbage out. d. Set goals and purpose. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. 2. Construction and Restrictive Motivation. 1. I HAVE TO. 2. I WANT TO. Who said we couldn’t? Affirmation and Visualizing. 1. Present reality predetermines outcome (What’s your Intent?”) 2. Where are you heading? Words+picture+feelings=life. a. Vivid and big picture what is it? One can begin to see how important it is we see things in the light of eternal values in view-Heaven or Hell. Let’s see some goals in life and become accountable unto God for what we do and what we say. Let’s start now and not put off what needs to be done to make life better for all now. Life is ongoing and what we do let’s do it quickly. Let’s give our lives to the Lord and let Him modify us to where we are able to reach our potential in all areas of our lives. That takes a commitment to obey His Word, not because I have to, but want to love and obey Him. Realizing we can’t do it ourselves we need the Lords help. He is the answer to all our problems. I want to be constructive based on what I want to do, for then it will bring pay value to who you are, and who your becoming like. What is the incentive? Being rewarded in satisfaction and peace of mind that is will with my soul. Attitude becomes, Yes I can through Jesus Christ which strengths me. That’s personal satisfaction the World can’t give. I can see it, I can prove it, and I want more of Jesus in my life. I CHOSE TO FOLLOW THE LORD! I CHOSE TO ALLOW HIM TO SET ON THE THRONE ROOM OF MY HEART! I CHOSE TO OBEY GOD NOT MAN! I WANT TO; NOT HAVE TO. CONSTRUCTIVE MOTIVATED PEOPLE ARE SELF- STARTERS. 1. ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHO YOU ARE WHERE YOU ARE! 2. LOOK FOR SOLUTIONS NOT EXCUSES. 3. HAVE TREMENDOUS DRIVE. 4. MOVE FORWARD WITH DIGNITY HONORING AND PREFERRING OTHERS. The Christian life is compared to an athletic contest, foot race, or boxing. It’s a battle of life for life eternal in heaven or hell. We are lost sinners Romans 3:23 and when we realize the wages of sin is death Romans 6:23, but the gift of God is eternal life, we confess as Romans 10:9 say. We become new creation and are saved Romans 10:13 by trusting Him, leaning not on our own understanding but in Gods ability to allow us to reach our potential. |
