12 And again, Isaiah says: “There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.” It was David who’s father Jesse saw David was chosen by God to rule and reign over the Kingdom of God at this time and in the New Testament God son Jesus died so all could believe and have Life. That is our hope in Jesus, not our race or color of skin. We have been adopted into the family of Gods. 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. God is the God of hope the foundation of Hope. Hope in God will not deceive us for it will give us joy and peace regardless of the storms of life we face. Joy and hope are only given to us by God as we are justified as never sinning. Hope, joy and peace are some of the fruits of the Holy Spirit as we abide in Him. Joy and peace are fulfilling to followers of Christ regardless of how one looks or how much money one has. Joy and peace can’t be bought with silver or gold it is given by Gods redemption as He restored us in to His loving family. Joy in received as we pray to God trust God and obey God. When we open our mouth it needs to be full of the joy of the Lord, not because of who we think we are but who God says we are. From Jerusalem to Illyricum 14 Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish [f]one another. Here we see Paul very confident in who he is in the Lord and wants us all to have the fulness of the Lords presence of joy and peace that comes in know the truth of God word. God takes no bodies and makes them some bodies as they make themselves known as my Disciple. Hope in God will not shame but empower one to have hope for the impossible. The Holy Spirit of God was given to His Disciples to enable them to have the power to live in a governmental power that was against them and yet be cooperative and not bitter. Lord help us to be a persuader of people to be good and godly not skeptical of life but look at what is happening as wonderful, for nothing is more wonderful than to have the joy of the Lord as our strength and have it followed a person of peace. We as Christian need to communicate good understanding to one another to end any strife that. might separate us from the love of God. God rubbed shoulder with the Publicans and Sadducee’s and should we not do the same. 15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written more boldly to you on some points, as reminding you, because of the grace given to me by God, 16 that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering [g]of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. My Brethren Showing how he appreciates those he is addressing showing brotherly love by wanting to share personally what he saw and needed to remind them. I am a disciple to the Gentiles and want you to know the power of God grace to save, keep and propel one to keep on keeping on trust the Lord for He is able to see you through. His grace is never lacking but always present as we abide in the Lord. Your a minister of the word of God and need to give yourself wholly to it. God is our master we can’t but He can empower us. We are appointed by God chosen by God to Go bring good news to all! I do not rule you or force you I am an Ambassador representing the Lord. It is the gospel of God that I am concerned with for it changes lives. Note it is acceptable to Gods will. 17 Therefore I have reason to glory in Christ Jesus in the things which pertain to God. Paul did not rejoice for who he was but who God was and what God was doing in his life. We are not our own we are Christ doing what He wants us to do that bring peace of mind so we can relax in who we are in Christ. 18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient— 19 in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. Paul is show how it is not I but Christ that enable me to speak the truth as he received it from the Holy Spirit. When you’re working for someone you make sure your pleasing him as much as possible and Paul was working for the Kingdom of God and did not want others to shower him with praise. Knowing it was for the simple reason he was abiding in the loving arms of the Lord. He preached in many places everywhere he went; Syria, Cilicia, Phrygia, Galatia, Mysia, Troas, Macedonia, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, Corinth, Ephesus, and other areas close. He was a very active man and strong in running his race. He fully preached the Gospel not half hardily but fervently gave away the full Gospel.20 And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man’s foundation, 21 but as it is written: “To whom He was not announced, they shall see; And those who have not heard shall understand.” Paul Preached in place where the gospel was not known, so broke up follow ground. That take effort for the ground in many areas is like hard pan and needs to be broken up with a chisel plow so life can grow. So Paul was preaching where the Gospel was never heard and people had never heard the name of Jesus. People were used to serving idol and involved with witch craft, so Paul had to break new ground. We have many instructors but how many know the truth of God word so people are freed from slavery of sins grip? He did not build upon someone else’s experiences but what God had allowed him to experience. How many times have we seen the light come on as we shared the Biblical truth and people cried out to God for mercy love and grace. Lord help us to be challenged every time we hear the truth of the word, to want to trust and obey for there is really no other way to relax. When we obey the laws of man we relax and it is the same with the Bibles way, truth and life for is bring hope, peace and joy beyond anything we can experience in life. Is God working in your life or are you trying to do it with your intelligence, understanding knowledge and wisdom? God is all in all and that the reason we need to hear His knock and answer his pleading to come unto him. Plan to Visit Rome 22 For this reason I also have been much hindered from coming to you. Paul was a very personal person and had many friends as well as co labors. He wanted to please himself and did not want to be hinder and many time we do not want to be hinder and do what. we are going to do without really seeking the Lord will. 23 But now no longer having a place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come to you, 24 whenever I journey to Spain, [h]I shall come to you. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may enjoy your company for a while. Paul felt like he needed to expand his ministry so wanted to go to Spain to share his ministry to those in Rome the seat of Government. The purpose of God outweighs our desires even though we think our desire is ok. Paul was many times confronted with his decisions. 25 But now I am going to Jerusalem to [i]minister to the saints. Paul is always on the God and Jerusalem was where the Lord began His ministry and Paul was thankful for His time there but was called elsewhere. 26 For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem. Paul knew the power of the Church to give to the needs of the area. He receive offering and wanted to make sure they were used so took them with Him to bless other in Jerusalem. h27 It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in material things. Thank the Lord for those who have gone before us for they paid a tremendous price and we benifit for all those who gave joyfully. So, money we give when given to the poor is a blessing around the world. Samaritans Purse and Convoy of Hope take in thousands of dollars and they in turn use it to buy supplies and other thing to those in emergencies. 28 Therefore, when I have performed this and have sealed to them this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain. Paul was blest in receive monies for ministry in other places and had a obligation to give it so it could be used and blessed by others. 29 But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing [j]of the gospel of Christ. Here Paul is blessed to have others help him, he was not alone. We can expect too little from man, nor too much for God. Here Paul came with a fullness of the blessing of the way, truth and life that was better than any amount of money. The Gospel will never profit unless God bless it to us and we wait upon God and come to Him 30 Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me, 31 that I may be delivered from those in Judea who [k]do not believe, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, 32 that I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you. 33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. Paul gave good reasons why he could not come to them and begged them not for himself but for other poor saints at Jerusalem. Paul wanted Pray for what he was going to be facing and Lord help us to understand Prayer is what allows the Church to be what. God wants it to be. Then there were many saints poor and frowned upon maybe because of famine could off cost a lot or some other reasons many be taxes. It is something that God calls the poor of the world and that is so true today and many in the third world countries are accepting the Lords love and mercy. Also, persecution was server in Jerusalem and persecution costs. The Bible says we will have the poor with us always but what do we do with the poor in our own churches? It is impossible to meet the need of all and Lord help us to do all we can to bless those that need help in our area of ministry. It is amazing how when one is preaching the word they become refreshed along with the ones being ministered to. This is what happen in the Church that are ministering to it people and to the area around them, people feel good many time about the impact the Church has for positive things. To see Paul so grateful for what God is doing make others thankful they are included in the blessing of the Lord. Are you following the Lord as you're abiding in the vine; Jesus so your producing goodwill and peace! |
