Romans 11

This 11th Chapter is showing how Paul reconciled the truth that the Jews rejected the promise made to them, and is showing the harshness of it to show the need of seeing the Divine goodness in general; has God then cast away His people? He shows how His mercy is mixed with His wrath. He infers thence the infinite wisdom and sovereignty of God, with the adoration of which he concludes this Chapter and Subject Romans 11:33-36 33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! 34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord?

Or who has become His counselor?”
35 “Or who has first given to Him
And it shall be repaid to him?”
To this very day.” David quotes from Ps 69:22 and 23

36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen

Israel’s Rejection Not Total Thank the Lord God is in control all are not cast off; now the Gentiles are taken in. Soon the Jews cast off will be taken into the Church again. It is imperative we abide In Him so we bear fruit.

11 I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has a chosen remnant that He predestinated, or called the election, God loved one no all. Paul one of these, was a Israelite. He was the least and Youngest like Benjamin was.   God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”Paul was as human as one can get and he knows the Christians were not wanted, as even he was much early, having christians killed but God, rescued and saved him and left him blind for three days, How long do we remain blind not seeing the truth of God’s word.  But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” God is a rewarder of those who abide with Him and the stronger the night the less light is needed and Just as Elijah was feeling down God had a way of lifting him up. As Gods people we will never be crushed for God loves His own and as a Church we are called of the Lord. Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. Thank the Lord He is in charge and loves people and loves the Church that is people that follow Him and serve Him. We, will never know how many people have been called and accepted the call until we get to heaven. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. [a]But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work. What a statement Grace is not works and works is not grace. Grace is free, faith is free, salvation is free when we ask God to come and abide in us. Election is a freedom of our will, I will to have faith and receive the grace and mercy of the Lord, so I can do the works of a Christian. I have said many times people try too hard to be a Christian and it needs to be accepted by Faith, so Gods grace is present to empower us to continue to breath and get stronger.

What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect

have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. Some are blind and can’t see for they do not want to believe God, they enjoy the old nature doing whatever they want, and do not want anyone to tell them what to do, or how to do it! We are blind for we do not want to see the way, truth and life the Lord has in His store house. It is each to be harden to the touch of the Spirit of God, from the touch of the gospel of peace, goodwill and love. People shut their eyes to evil and lust for sin, and we see the consequence of being punished for many do not care. Loss of family, identity, job, marriage, and other good relations are hurting, which are all sign of being blind to realties vividness of imagination. Israel seems to be asleep of what is going on, even yet today as people are out to destroy them, They have eyes, but can see, ears but can hear. They saw Christ but did not accept Him and still to this day with enemies surrounding them are out to destroy them. What a reason to believe and trust the Lord for protection knowing they are protecting themselves with their intelligence to believe in gods way. The Bible says His blood be upon us and upon our children and how true that really is to anyone that does not accept the Blood of the Lamb of God to cleanse and heal our bodies, souls and spirits.

Just as it is written: “God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear,

Psalm 69:22 New King James Version (NKJV)

22 Let their table become a snare before them,
And their well-being a trap.

23 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see;
And make their loins shake continually.

9. And David says: “Let their table become a snare and a trap,
A stumbling block and a recompense to them. Here it is repeated as if they never learned, just like today, How many times do we forget and have to get back to the basic. For God has nothing but good in store for us if we can only abide in Him. Let their table become a snare to them as they fall into their own trap, the curse of God is like poisoned meat of the word that we interpret from ourselves. God will curse our blessing Mal. 2:2 The very food that should nourish us can choke us. Notice verse
10 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see,
And bow down their back always.” When the Jews rejected the Lord and had Him killed on a cross in Jerusalem they did not see what they had done and could not see the truth in what happened. They have been trampled down by carnality and worldly mindedness. There is no a more worldly, willful, blind people in the world even yet today. Divine curses will work a long time.  Now we see History of God’s grace is beginning.

Israel’s Rejection Not Final

11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their [b]fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. The gentiles because of the fall are now taken in and they need to understand it is by faith they can become grafted into the Jewish race. So now the poor Gentiles are able to feast at the table of God’s love, mercy and grace. Matthew 22:8 & 9 Those that were bidden where not worthy-Go ye therefore into the Highways and compel them to come in. Luke 14:21

21 So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the [a]maimed and the lame and the blind.’

12 Now if their [c]fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness! The Gospel is the riches of the place where it is; it is better than silver or gold, for we are Gods Jewels. Let’s make sure we are accountable for the price the Lord paid that we might have life abundantly and free.

13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. 15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

Thank the Lord He speaks to us Gentiles and wants the best for us so we do not provoke the Lord and be cast away. God made a way for His favor upon the Gentiles. He did not forsake the Jews and is still blessing them and all who bless her. God is going to honor His word and any one that abides in Him is going to bear fruit for Jesus is the gentleman farmer. Jealousy is a strong term, we often here Jealousy dismissed as insecurity, and in response, Christians can be quick to look at God’s jealousy in Scriptures. Exodus 20:5; Deuteronomy 4:24; 32:21; Zechariah 8:2 and respond., “If God can be jealous, so can I” If only things were so easy. Both approaches (DISMISSAL and approval) are. In fact, misguided, presupposing that insecurity itself is inherently undesirable. It’s not. It’s just the difference between divine and human Jealousy. God’s jealousy is always a product of His perfect, self-sufficient love Exodus 3:14; Psalms 50:9-15, which provides the opportunity for Him to feel deeply jealous about the people with which he has deeply covenanted. Humans, in contrast, are jealous as a product of their finite love, which, having limited emotional and relational resources with which to be vulnerable, actually makes the risk of entering into a relationship a Bargain with one’s own selfhood. So, if we are betrayed, then we feel jealousy is legitimate, then we will not only lose our love, but our selves. God’s jealousy is always a product of his perfect, self-sufficient love. Could it be the Jew’s suffer because of other being jealous of them as they are outstanding in so many endeavors and it is seen in how the neighbors treat them. Even in how the Church is treated by the world, especially the closer we get to the rapture of the Saints. So here Paul tells us as a Christian preaching the gospel not too many people believed. Look even today not too many are putting trust in the way, truth and life found as one accepts abiding in the Lord. Lord help us to save some for the wages of sin so they can have the gift of life.

Ministers are ambassadors for Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God, and for their work’s sake are to be esteemed highly in love.

Let’s have respect for the Jews and receive them in again. Let’s make sure we take heed lest we stumble and fall like the Jews have done.

16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. The Jews were the first fruit and they began holy as the root of Jesse was holy so are we the Gentiles being grafted in. 17  And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and [d]fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. As a branch of a wild olive into a good olive, which is contrary to the way and custom of the husbandman, who grafts the good olive into the bad; but those who God grafts into the Church he finds wild and barren, and good for nothing. Men graft to mend the branches. 1. The Church of God is an olive tree, flourishing and fruitful as an olive, the fruit is useful for the honor both of God and man. 2. Those that are outside the church are as wild olive-trees, not only useless, but what they do produce is sour and unsavory. 3 Conversion is the grafting in of wild branches into the good olive. We must be cut off the old stock, and be bought into union with the new root. 4. Those that are grafted into the good olive-tree partake of the root and fatness of the olive. It is a saving union with Christ, all that are by a lively faith grafted into Christ are partakers of Him as the Branches of the root, receive His fulness. So, we partake of the same privileges of the Jews. The olive tree is the Church and Abraham was the father or root of us all in Christ. He is our administration our ruler our all in all. Word of caution be not proud; Don’t think you merit more at the hand of God than they, or stand higher in His favor. Remember you did not bear the root the root bore you!

19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said.Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, [e]goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? Abraham the root of Jewish Church. is not beholden to thee; but thou are greatly obliged to Him, as the trustee of the covenant and the father of many nations. The root is bearing you so we are secure, but not high minded, but fear with a holy fear that. is an excellent preservative against HIGH-MINDEDNESS? We need to fear but God His word is true. let’s not forfeiture what Christ has done, lest we lose the privilege of Being His. It is possible for churches that have long stood by faith to fall into such a state of infidelity as may be their ruin. We cut ourselves off of God's love mercy and grace. We have to make sure our faith is active so we can continue in his goodness, dependent upon and compliance with the free grace of the Lord. We have to want Gods love that is saying come unto me I will give you rest, security. Thank the Lord rejection is not final for when the fulness of time is come mercy will be grated to them

25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own [f]opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. Thank the Lord He knows what is going to happen next and we are seeing signs of the return of the Lord very quickly as lawlessness is abounding in every area of life and only god can give us salvation and it begins as I abide in the vine; Jesus. When conversion goes on, salvation-work goes on. 26 And so all Israel will be [g]saved, as it is written:

The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; The coming of Christ was promised and we are in a time when Israel is being bomb barded with rockets and only God knows how much he is going to let Israel go through. But we need to remember God is going to protect his own people when the church is raptured. Christ came to turn away ungodliness, dealing with guilt by purchasing our salvation and renewing grace to us every moment of the day.
27 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.” What a truth God wants to take away all sin and give us blessing upon blessing turning our wickedness into triumph, Christ came as a Redeemer, but now seen as a avenger to those that persist in impenitence, when we turn from our sins becoming citizens of Zion as we abide in the vine Jesus.

28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. Thank the Lord we are not enemies of the Gospel but believers in the Gospel so we now have favor with the King of Kings called the Beloved. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Thank the Lord his promises are true and when he calls us he ordains us as being in his family.  He gives us a reason for being an ambassador for the kingdom of gods. 30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. Lord help us to remember how it was before we accepted your love; when we were depressed, forsaken by good and lived in selfishness doing our thing with no regard for what was right. But then we accepted your will and way and became changed in motivation and purpose for we wanted to have goodwill and peace for all. This salvation was and is all because of what you did on the cross to take away all sin so we could accept your mercy and grace.  32 For God has [h]committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. It is strange that man lived in paradise where all was well, but a tree was in the garden God said man could not eat of it our they would die. Guess what man saw, took, ate, gave and since it was wrong had to hide. Yet God gave them a covering and saved them when they obeyed the law in the old testament and the new testament accepted abiding in the vine; Jesus so they could produce good fruit of being healthy and good so peace could rule and reign within them

33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! We will never understand the depth of the lords love, mercy and grace of the Lords love. We are on the banks looking out over the ocean and can imagine how big he really is. That is how big God’s love really is unlimited can’t see the depth or height of his love. God does not have counselors he is the counselor.

34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has become His counselor?” What assurance we have when we abide in vine, for we bear fruit automatically as we are connected to the source of life as we stay connect to the lord
35 “Or who has first given to Him
And it shall be repaid to him?” Who of god creation can prove god is beholden to him. We are debtors to god and need him every moment of the day. We give to god our all not just a part but all so we receive gifts from him, not death but grace, love and mercy out of his own pleasure.

36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. God is our all in all, our everything, our hope, faith, reverence, worship so we can pray to him and him alone. God is the fountain of life. He is the ultimate final cause, he is the one we communicate with to have a relationship with. We are his and he wills that we choose him and turn from sin and follow him, so we can be glorified and lifted up until we reach heaven as our eternal home.
