Paul in Chapter 7 explained the doctrine of justification and showed the power of Sanctification that keeps us pure and holy as we abide in the Lord will. Now he is showing the minister as helpers of the joy of the Saints. It is God will that His Children are comforted and have the privilege of seeing people saved coming into a relationship with the Lord. This is a well spring of joy of Gods comfort to our souls’ all is well living or dying, we will see three things in this chapter that proves our salvation. 1. We are privileged 8:1-28 2. The grounds laid in predestination 8:29,30. 3. The Apostle’s triumph in the name of all the saints 8:31-39 That is what brings us together in the family of God’s.
Romans 8 New King James Version (NKJV)
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.What a contrast between the flesh and the Spirit of a man or women for they are different as day is from night. A man can be in love with drinking, smoking, drugs and lusting for sex and completely overcome by it. I have seen this since a student in the Schools of White Swan and in my life working in the woods, farming, ministry, child care, chaplaincy and now as a minister in Harrah, WA. People seem to like to be controlled by evil more than abiding in the loving arms of the outstretched hands of God who is saying, come follow me I will give you peace and that is the ability to rest and relax in what God has in His store house for you. Who are you dwelling with, who rules your life? Who keeps you house clean? 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  Life is not being negative, under condemnation, but a positive experience full of the joy of the Lord that is unspeakable and full of glory. Remember we are all made of dust and that is dirt, that is ugly yet look at what it produces? You!  We are no longing satisfying the flesh, but the Spirit while the natural man can’t get beyond the wickedness of the body. It is the Spirit that empowers us to serve the Lord, for He imputed to us a healthy self-image we are OK! We see the fruits of the spirit in operation and it make us feel accepted in the Beloved. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies [d]through His Spirit who dwells in you. But; if God dwells in us we have the ability to rise from the death of sins hold on us as the Lord hands are working on us, molding and melting us into His image so we are now controlled by the mighty power of the Lord. Just as Christ is seated at the right hand of God so we are seated in His loving arms as becoming holier every day. We are the temples of the Holy Spirit of God that is rebuilt and many times repaired as we walk with the Lord by faith.
Sonship Through the Spirit
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. Thank the Lord we are alive as long as we understand we are in debt to the Lord for what He has done and continues to do as we abide in Him being productive.13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 1. We are debtors to the flesh, we have to breath and eat, work and sleep or we will die, lets be glad and rejoice for we are alive obeying the will of the Lord not in selfish pursuits but taking care of the necessities of life. 2. Note the consequences of the end results of obeying God or not. Do you want to be a curse or blessing is up to who you following and serving. We need to mortify this body and that is stop doing evil things. Don ‘t let the mind deceive you mortify the deeds of the bodies lust for things. Keep in touch with the Lord stay connected. Learn to not please the body but please the Soul by staying fixed to your source of strength. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.  Who are we the property of determines what your mind really wants. God needs to be our guide in these troubled times. We are not to be driven as beast but lead by the master Shepherd so we always have green pastures of plenty as Sons of God in His family. What. a privilege to know we are children of Gods and He cares for us in every area of life. We did not choose Him, He choose us and ordained us to go and bring forth good fruit. He wants us to grow up and become mature so the flesh is always submitting to Gods will.  15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba,[e] Father.”Thank the Lord we are not enslaved by the flesh but the spirit of God to were we can say ABBA; my Father;very personal. We manage a Group home in LA County for Holly Groove Los Angles orphans Society one of the oldest started by the Presbyterian Church in Holly Wood Ca. which gave us a clue to what it is like to be adopted. It is hard for the simple no one can take the place of Mom or Dad. That is the reason the Department of Children services has such a terrible time with adoptions. Lord help us to realize You’re our Father that created us and wants us to abide in Him so our temple is able to feel good about where we are and what we are doing to bring honor and praise to our Father God. Lord help me to accept my adoption papers and grown in love with You and all Your children.

16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. Thank the Lord for His Spirit that is available to all if they just abide in You and loves Your being the parent to train you up in the ways of the Lord. The Holy Spirit is still our comforter when we abide in Him, and trust Him to sanctify our souls, spirits and bodies so we feel good about what is going on regardless of the circumstance. Remember we are children of Gods and He certainly knows how to comfort us in life’s struggles and downfalls.
From Suffering to Glory
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Thank the Lord for the way He is present during our times of suffering the loss of being fired, laid off, change of jobs, demoted, displaced, forsaken, depressed, abandoned, rejected, abused, and the. List goes on and on with sufferings but glory during it all is totally given tous by God. Being fired as a Group Home Manager after 10 years of running a ideal Group Home in Acton CA according to the State and our Lancaster county commissioner, yet Holly Grove could do anything they wanted and I had no recourse according to our lawyer. Then the very next day being asked to be on staff of Westview Assembly of God under the leader ship of Pastor Larry Kasper was a joy unspeakable.  The having to leave our home in Landcaster, CA for Yakima to take care of my wife’s mother Faye Meshke who had dementia was a challenge to her daughter my wife in our home as I began working for the Yakima County Sheriffs Department as a chaplain teaching mandatory classes to 250 men and 35 women was a delight giving the skills to achieve their potential while in jail by teaching without prayer or using the Bible but common sense. So one reported after 2 ½ years I was preaching and was told I would have to stop mandatory classes and begin to offer classes to those who wanted to come and the attendance drop of tremendously.  As soon as I came to work the inmates would clap for me every time they saw me come into the building; the offices said why do they clap for you and not for us, I said I do not carry a weapon, but only the Spirit of God. Then I spoke to the God Pod every Thursday for the 10 years and was told I said to tear up all Bibles which I did not do, but said we all have skin that protects our bodies from infection and we need to make sure we understand the protection of the word of God to our bodies. So again I was asked to stop coming to the jail. I wrote a letter to the Superintendent Robertson and gave it to him while I read it and he said that is the best letter of resigning I have ever received and he said I could copy all the material I had on the computer and save it to a disk and they wanted to give me a going away party. I was never so happy for being accepted even through some did not like my presence in the jail. I still see people on the streets say, “Chappy” and I looked and they remind me of what I shared with them and most are doing very well.  Then I was stricken with Lymphoma a cancer that affected all my lymnodes, and Dr Dan Doornick had me go to Dr Tony Ha who said we can go slow or fast with the treatment and I said Dr it came on fast so let’s go fast.  So I went to the hospital and he gave me three dose of the strongest Chemo, for three days and the first day I looked at the swelling in my face like a swollen bee sting and it was gone and my body felt so good I walk around the halls of the hospital after every shot praising the Lord and had to go through an out-patient program at North Star for 3 month taking Chemo  and was given a clear bill of health, This all happen as we earlier accepted being the Pastor of the Harrah Assembly of God which the Northwest District was going to shut down, we have been here now for 9 years and seeing the hand of the Lord still ministering to people that are hurting as we pastor the Church we grew up in and my parents where charter members since 1936.
