We are seeing Paul here in chapter 6 making sure people understood the doctrine of justification by faith in God. It is what God did for us on the cross as He took our sins upon Himself making us justified not to sin but being sanctified to live a holy life, so we can become righteous as we abide in the vine.  It is the water and the blood coming together out of the side of the Lord as they pierced His side with the spear. Lord help us to see the value of what You did upon the cross to give us new life as we are born again in the Spirit of the Lord seeing the old man put away and the new man living victories for the Lord.

Romans 6 New King James Version (NKJV)
Dead to Sin, Alive to God
What shall we say then? This is personal, what am I going to do then with my life needs to be answered now? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Are we going to stay natural brute beasts because God say it’s ok? No!  Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?  We are now, when we accept abiding in the Lord going to want to be like Jesus for that is how He created us. In His image, pure and holy, so we can go through all our disappointment of life. We will never be what God created us to be, unless we trust and obey Him dying out to selfish interests. That is being totally given over to His will and desires, not my will but Yours be done Oh Lord! Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Thank the Lord when we accept His way, truth and life we die and the Lord changes us or we become enlighten to the mortification. Putting off the old and accepting the new. Like a butterfly before he is one goes from a glob like bug, to a beautiful butterfly as the past  is shed and he becomes beautiful for all to see. Mortification is a process that is worked at in the natural world of an animal. But as Children we are becoming more like the Lord, leaving behind the sins that bog us down. We change from the natural man to the Spiritual man, becoming more and more like the Master of our being. Sin then is destroyed, as we resist it and yield to the Lord will and obey Him. It is the body of sin that has a sword that cuts away everything that is good and beneficial to us as mankind and need to let them die by not using sin as a way of escaping Gods will.  So, we are dead to sin and live for God doing what is right. Seeing right as beautiful as the old is stopped and the new begins to grow. Dying out to self-ushers in an at ease; or rest, not doing wrongs but delighting in the truth.  Sin is always going to be present, but because of Sanctification God is keeping us pure and holy as we abide in Him not desiring the lust of the flesh. We may be overcome by lust, yet let’s not be obedient to the lust but cast them off continuing to be obedient to the Lord. Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Thank the Lord He created us in His image and when we accept this we begin to die out to selfish interest and life for Christ. For death could not hold the Lord, nor can death hold us captive to sin but alive to resist and fight off the want, or desire to obey the flesh. Thank the Lord for the spiritual man compared to the natural man that wants the easy route, for the way truth and life of the Lord was not easy, for people wanted to get rid of His presence. Thank the Lord the more people rebel against God, the more alive the Church becomes, for it is the Lord that satisfies every longing of our hearts.  The more you try to stop the water from flowing the harder it is to stop it. Yes, we built dams and the bigger the dam the more effort it takes and only the Lord can stop the onslaught of evil in our world in my life.  It is the Lord that allows vivification, or living to righteousness as we abide in Him. We choose new paths new friends, way and a life that builds and produces goodness for all to benefit from. There is no living to God but living in Him as we abide in Him. God is our Head and the ground from which we grow goodwill and peace to all.  For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. To be united with the Lord allows Him to give us the empowerment we need to die out to self and be a part of His resurrection now walking in the power of His might that over comes the darkest areas of our world. Today we are seeing evil abound and wanting to control our world with unrighteousness, not goodness but lawlessness and terror. Thank the Lord for the power of the Holy Spirit that is bring people that are being persecuted a peace that passes understanding in the natural.   For he who has died has been freed from sin. Thank the Lord when the seed that is planted begins to die it produces that which was planted. When we die out to God it is God that give us newness of life that is found in His seed, becoming more like the Lord useful to others. As long as we stay connected to Him the more we become like Him. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. So your seeing as we die to selfish interest we begin to live for God knowing Christ did not die but rose from the grave, never to die again. So he conquered deaths sting and received life as he abode in God love allowing the Holy Spirit to take Him to be seated at the right hand of God interceding for His own now. So death is not a part of our lives when we die out to sin and live for God.  10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. What a statement He died from not physical death but for sins of the world, so He showed John 3: 16  He loves the world wants to give them life as they believed in Him. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Lord help us to see the importance of dying to do you will so we can be alive in doing what is right by all, even our enemies.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Notice it is up to us to accept Gods will, so sin is not in control of our lives. As people we choose all the time rather we are going to serve the Lord or serve the enemy of our souls. Might we know the power of mortification so we come out of our shell of sin to the new person abiding in the Lord becoming more and more like the Lord and not like Satan.

13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. It is so easy to take upon ourselves the old nature bound by sins chains, when God came to set us free from wrongs of injustice. We are either serving and obeying the Lord, or the enemy of our lives Satan.   14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Thank the Lord for Grace that God gives those that abide in the vine for we cannot continue walking in perfection without knowing the Lord loves us and wants us to ask forgiveness, when we error and go astray that is caused by God grace He continues to give. For grace is greater than our sin and God’s hands are still reaching out for people to come unto Him for His grace is sufficient.
From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! What are we going to do continually sin for we are now forgiven by God and do not have to ask God to forgive us.  No when we sin it is necessary we ask to be forgiven so the shame of wrong actions and behavior is forgiven, or we are at risk of being cut off the tree, for we do not bear any fruit. Grace is given by God as through we have not sinned, so are justified as walking with the Lord keeping that communication that is needed to love and obey God.  16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?  Everyone God created is born in sin as we have been born to sin and do not have to work at it sin is our lot until we confess our sin and repent taking upon ourselves to obey the Lord and turn from following Satan. We have a new master, lord, and slave driver that wants us to bear goodness and mercy to others all the time. 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.  Thank the Lord He bore our sins upon the cross, so we would not have to live as sinners, but as servants of the Lord, obeying Him in all we do and say. Let us always remember the load of sin that was lifted off our backs as we choose the way of the Lord, letting Him carry our load of sins18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. Thank the Lord what you were bound to and addicted to  is no longer shaming you as you’re doing all you can now to please the Lord. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Sinning is so easy for it is natural but now have accepted Jesus as Lord, so become spiritual driven to worship, reverence, have faith and hope in God to answer your prayers.  Our souls imagination, reason, conscience, affection and memory do not forget the curse of sin by the bodies eyes, ears, nose, mouth and feeling that used to control our bodies. Now it is the Spirit that is in control.  For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. You ever thankful for how your created by God and do not want to slip back into the wages of sin for it is very costly. Now that we are seeing lawlessness around the world it makes us understand how important it is we continue to lift the name of Jesus higher to overcome the evil that is all around us. We have now a need to keep on fighting for the right that love can be seen in your life regardless of what is going on around us for we are going to work at being righteous knowing the truth to be set free.
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. When we were sinners we certainly were not free to do what is right, for sin became our master, with no regard for what is right. Your bent on doing as much evil of licentiousness possible, like the prodigal yielded his body to sin, and sin became a miserable situation, where he was forced to eat with swine. Lord help us to see we need to yield ourselves to the Father.  21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? Thank the Lord for shame that God gave us at creation to want to go hide, until our sins are found out, so we can accept reality, we are lost going the wrong way and need to repent and change direction, or leaders from Satan to Gods way, that will get you on the right path so you see beauty regardless of the circumstance.  For the end of those things is death. The end of life is death and after that comes judgement. For the Christian, it is we see the need to die once, so we never die again for we are alive forever more. The natural man is going to die twice once at death and the other when cast into hell where they live forever. 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. Thank the Lord there is nothing in our hands that we can have hope in, for we can earn hope for a reward it is all because of what God did in giving us His Son.  23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. For life has wages or a price to pay when we do wrong. We are seeing everyday people convicted of wrong as wrong is going to suffer loss of heaven. But the gift God has for all to receive is eternal life when we accept abiding in the vine so we are able to produce Godliness and righteous all the days of our lives now and eternally in Heaven.
Lord help me to make sure my imagination is vivid and I see the truth of how we are created and what for so the reality of Heaven is reality now and forever.
